Chocolate Pancakes with Chocolate Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- For the Chocolate Sauce:
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Mix the cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl
Add the milk, egg, and melted butter to a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together just until they are mixed
Watch out not to mix too much; lumps are fine
The semisweet chocolate chips should be carefully mixed in
Warm up a nonstick griddle or skillet over medium-low heat and add a little butter or oil to coat it
For every pancake, put 1/4 cup of pancake batter on a hot skillet
Once the top starts to bubble, flip it over and cook the other side until it's golden brown
Put the chocolate chips, heavy cream, butter, and maple syrup in a small saucepan
This is for the chocolate sauce
Stir the sauce all the time while it's on low heat until the butter and chocolate melt and it's smooth
Taking it off the heat, add the vanilla extract and mix it in
To serve, pour the warm chocolate sauce over the chocolate pancakes
